Village 8 Update

Due to unforeseen circumstances, The Rivalry: Red V. Blue will not be screening tonight (1/24) at the Village 8 in Louisville.The film will be playing at the Village 8 in Louisville on 1/31 and 2/7 at both 7 and 9 pm. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, but please catch the show at one of the alternate dates. Elizabethtown saw the first movie to document the Louisville-Kentucky college basketball rivalry yesterday. Today it is Hazard’s turn!

Despite snow and freezing temperatures last night in Kentucky, 107 packed the Historic State Theater in Elizabethtown for THE RIVALRY: RED V. BLUE! Thank you to everyone who came out and experienced the movie like the filmmakers intended — surrounded by fellow UK and U of L fans!

Tonight the documentary is screening in Hazard, KY at 7 pm at the Forum Theater. The screening is presented by Perry Distributors and tickets are only $3! For more information on this screening and others in your area, please check out our Screenings Page.

This Saturday, January 18th, The Rivalry: Red V. Blue will be screening at 7 pm at The Forum Theater, located on 101 Bulldog Ln in Hazard, KY. Tickets are only $3 for this event, so don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity to watch the first movie to document college basketball’s ultimate rivalry: Kentucky-Louisville!

Red V. Blue features interviews with Denny Crum, Joe B. Hall, Oscar Combs, Tom Leach, Jerry Tipton, Derek Anderson, Matt Jones, Mike Rutherford, Terry Howard, Van Vance, Jock Sutherland, and many others.

Louisville Dates Announced!

WE’RE BACK, LOUISVILLE!

THE RIVALRY: RED V. BLUE will be screening at 7 and 9 pm on January 24th and 31st, as well as on February 7th and 14th at Village 8 Cinemas on Bardstown Road! RED V. BLUE will also be playing in Elizabethtown, Georgetown and Ashland.

We are happy to announce that the next screening of “The Rivalry: Red V. Blue” will be in Elizabethtown, Kentucky on Friday, January 17th at 7 pm at the Historic State Theater. Tickets are only $5 and they can be purchased at the door or via the Historic State Theater website. The Historic State Theater is located on 209 West Dixie Avenue in Elizabethtown, KY. It’s been an awesome few days in Kentucky unveiling “The Rivalry: Red V. Blue” to audiences across the state. Both Kentucky and Louisville fans have responded positively to the film and we can’t wait to share it with more of you!

For the December 27th premiere at the Lexington Opera House, Lexington mayor Jim Gray was in attendance along with Rob Bromley, Miss Kentucky, Governor John Y. Brown, and Tom Leach, among others. WKYT News covered the event on the local news. Watch here.

For the December 29th premiere at the Muhammad Ali Center, Louisville mayor Greg Fischer attended along with Tony Vanetti, Terry Howard, Al Benniger, Jim Tharp, Ken Kurlas and the barbers (Robert Boone and the Wagners). WHAS and WLKY covered the event on the local news. Watch here.

For the December 30th premiere a the SIPP Theater, Paintsville mayor Bob Porter attended along with UK fan Doug Young and U of L fan Rick Roberts. WYMT covered the event on the local news. Watch here.

P.S. the morning of the 27th director Rory Owen Delaney was a guest on the Great Day Live morning show on WHAS11 in Louisville where he was seen desperately holding on to the back of the couch during his interview with Terry Meiners. Those couch cushions are really, really small 🙂

Tonight we will be live streaming the filmmaker Q & A for “The Rivalry: Red V. Blue” at the Lexington Opera House with the assistance of Volar Video. Director Rory Owen Delaney, producer Wade Smith and cinematographer Aaron Mikel will be answering your questions live. Kentucky Premieres Announced

Last night we let our followers on twitter in on the big news: we finally announced our premiere dates. That’s right. “The Rivalry: Red V. Blue,” the first film to document college basketball’s ultimate rivalry, is hitting theaters right in time for the holidays and the big game!

On Friday, December 27th, “The Rivalry: Red V. Blue” will be playing at the Lexington Opera House in Lexington, KY. Doors open at 6:30 pm. The screening will begin at 7:30 pm. This event is by invitation only, however, there will be a TON of tickets given away through facebook, twitter, instagram, as well as on radio and TV stations, so stay tuned for more details.

On Sunday, December 29th, “The Rivalry: Red V. Blue” will be screening back-to-back at the Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville, KY. The first screening at 7 pm is by invitation only, but there will be plenty of opportunities to win free tickets, so stay tuned. The second screening at 9 pm is open to the general public. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door or via our ebay store. There are 160 tickets available for this screening.

On Monday, December 30th, “The Rivalry: Red V. Blue” will be screening at the historic SIPP Theater in Paintsville, KY. Doors open at 6:30 pm and the screening begins at 7 pm. This event is open to the general public. Tickets are $10 and there are 350 seats available.

Following each screening, there will be a brief question and answer period with the filmmakers. More screenings to be announced in the coming days!
